London Power Tunnels

The London Power Tunnels 2 project is a multi-million-pound investment that will house high-voltage cabling, designed to deliver power to half of South London.

Housing of high voltage cabling underground creates a unique challenge of managing the temperature of the tunnels, preventing overheating that could cause disruption to the HV network. Conditions need to be maintained below 50°C for general operations and cooled further to 35°C before maintenance personnel can safely enter.

Our Linear Heat Detection System, is a key component of the Tunnel Management System, ensuring consistent monitoring of the tunnel conditions.  We have leveraged our proven design experience from previous London Power Tunnels phases to ensure we deliver a consistent and reliable approach to project delivery.
