Supporting YMCA Derbyshire’s Mission
YMCA Derbyshire is a local charity dedicated to providing hands-on support, ranging from accommodation and education to mental health services and more, for individuals and families across Derby and Derbyshire. Over the years, we have proudly supported YMCA Derbyshire through donations of furniture for the Padley Centre and Aldi vouchers distributed during Christmas, helping those in need enjoy a brighter festive season. We have also embarked on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to raise money for YMCA Derbyshire’s Foundry Point project.
Focus on Early Years: Stepping Stones Nursery
In 2025, we’re delighted to focus our support on the YMCA Stepping Stones Nursery. This outstanding nursery offers local, affordable childcare and early learning, giving children the best possible start on their educational journey. Established in 1988 as Derwent Stepping Stones, the nursery was Derby’s first community business, founded by a group of women determined to create flexible childcare options for all families. Today, it continues to empower families and strengthen the community that nurtures every child’s potential.
Every Child Deserves the Magic of Reading
This Christmas, our team has donated 97 books for children aged 9 months to 4 years at Stepping Stones Nursery. Our goal is simple: to ensure every child can experience the joy and magic of reading during the festive season.
