Plant Room Lighting

Plant Room Lighting

Our plant room lighting control systems provide intelligent monitoring, control, and diagnostics within a single integrated tunnel lighting platform. By incorporating plant room lighting into the main lighting control system, there is no requirement for separate lighting controls or building management systems, reducing both capital expenditure and ongoing operational costs.

Built around proven DALI-based technology, the system delivers detailed monitoring of individual luminaires and drivers, enabling rapid fault identification and simplified maintenance. Integrated PIR sensors and local wall-switch controls provide responsive, user-friendly operation, while remote monitoring and manual overrides from the tunnel control system ensure full visibility and control.

Supporting automated emergency lighting testing in accordance with BS 5266 and BS EN 50171:2021, our solution combines operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and dependable performance for critical infrastructure environments.

Features & Benefits

Unified
Control Platform

Manage all tunnel and plant room lighting through a single control platform, reducing complexity and lifecycle costs.

Intelligent DALI Monitoring

Advanced DALI based interfaces provide detailed monitoring, fault reporting and diagnostics.

Smart
Local Control

Integrated PIR sensors and wall-switch interfaces provide responsive local control.

Emergency Lighting Compliance

Supports BS 5266 and BS EN 50171:2021 emergency lighting testing and reporting requirements.

Remote
Monitoring

Remotely monitor and control lighting from the tunnel control system, improving operational efficiency.

Silvertown Tunnel

The Silvertown Tunnel is a major new road tunnel beneath the River Thames, providing an additional crossing between Silvertown and the Greenwich Peninsula.

Our plant room lighting system serves multiple plant rooms supporting electrical distribution, pumping and sump infrastructure, as well as several cross passages that form part of the tunnel’s safety and operational systems.

Around 250 luminaires are monitored and controlled through an integrated DALI lighting network, providing detailed fault diagnostics and real-time visibility of lighting assets across the installation. Local lighting control is delivered through PIR occupancy sensors and pushbutton switches, ensuring safe and efficient operation while minimising unnecessary energy consumption.

Fully integrated with the Scanlight tunnel lighting control system, our solution enables operators to remotely monitor plant room lighting, apply manual overrides through the tunnel SCADA platform and maintain centralised control of all lighting assets.
